Fancy a day that starts off slowly but still really feels like “gone”? Then the Zittauer Gebirge is a great choice. You can drive to Oybin in about 40 minutes, where you'll suddenly find romantic ruins of an old castle and monastery amidst the greenery.

Here you can take a walk through the hilly landscape, take in a viewpoint, or just walk around quietly and enjoy the atmosphere. Many guests also combine Oybin with a short route such as the Ritterschlucht or make it an extra special day out with the steam train in the area. You choose what suits you.

About Zittauer Gebirge & Oybin

The Zittauer Mountains lie just across the border in Germany and are surprisingly close to our campsite. It's an area of woods, rocks and quiet hiking trails, ideal if you love nature without the crowds.

Oybin himself is popular for its combination of nature and history. The ruins are located on a rock massif and give that typical “vacation” atmosphere: take a look around, take a break, and then continue walking. This outing is suitable for couples and families, precisely because you can make it as small or extensive as you want.
