There are many beautiful cities in the vicinity of Dresden and the campsite.

An average of one hour away near our campsite, you'll find the cities of Dresden, Bautzen and Görtlitz, all of which are well worth a visit. Beautiful old buildings can be visited in these cities and, of course, you can also shop well. For families who like to take more active trips, there is also plenty to find in the vicinity of our campsite. One hour's drive away, you'll find the beautiful Dresden Zoo. A little closer you'll find Zittauer Gebirge Nature Park with a special walking route for children. You can also drive the other way and take the Kirnitzschtalbahn in Bad Schandau to visit the Saxon Switzerland National Park or the Bastei Rock Formation. Or have fun in the climbing forest in Großschönau, only half an hour away from our campsite. And there are also plenty of swimming pools and amusement parks in the vicinity of our campsite:

What you're going to do

Do you want a day out where everyone gets their money's worth? Dresden and the surrounding region are perfect if you want to mix nature with culture, shopping and a fun family outing. From Camping de Regenboog, you can drive to Dresden in about 1 hour and arrive in a city full of atmosphere, old buildings and lovely squares.

You can make the day as active or as calm as you want. Think of a city walk, an afternoon of shopping, grabbing a terrace... and if you're with children: the Dresden Zoo is a nice extra. Prefer something other than a zoo? Then there are also forts, viewpoints and nature parks in the region to take a short walk.

About Dresden & surroundings

Dresden is close to the Czech-German border and therefore feels like a logical day trip from the campsite. The nice thing is the variety: you can soak up culture in the city, but you can also be back in the green of the surrounding areas in no time.

There are several places around Dresden that make it easy to combine. Think of beautiful cities such as Bautzen and Görlitz, or nature reserves such as Saxon Switzerland. As a result, Dresden is not only a “city day”, but above all a flexible day trip that you fill out exactly as you want.
